Probate Prices

Applying for a Grant of Probate Only (where the total value of the assets is less than the Nil Rate Band)

What does the above price include?

• A dedicated and experienced solicitor or executive to work on your matter.

• Identifying the Executors legally appointed under the Will

• Completing the Probate Application using the documents and figures you have provided.

• Preparing the necessary paperwork for signing.

• Making any applications to HMRC on your behalf (if appropriate).

• Obtaining the Grant of Probate and providing you with copies.

 Applying for a Grant of Probate Only (where the total value of the assets is greater than the Nil Rate Band)

 What does the above price include?

•  A dedicated and experienced solicitor or executive to work on your matter.

• Identifying the Executors legally appointed under the Will

• Completing the Probate Application using the documents and figures you have provided.

• Preparing the necessary paperwork for signing.

• Completing the necessary HMRC forms on your behalf

• Obtaining the Grant of Probate and providing you with copies.

 Applying for the Grant of Probate, collecting in the assets and distribution

 Where there is a valid Will in place you can instruct us to deal with the entire process, which would include the following work

• Providing you with a dedicated and experienced probate solicitor or executive to work on your matter.

• Identifying the Executors appointed under the Will

• Obtaining details of the assets and any liabilities.

• Completing the Probate Application form using the information we have obtained

• Preparing and sending off any Tax forms to HMRC on your behalf

• Preparing all necessary paperwork for signing

• Closing all accounts (both monetary and utility)

• Arranging the sale of any property

• Distributing the estate to the beneficiaries under the terms of the Will.

 We will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate once we have further information about the estate.

 Intestate Estate (where there is no Will)

 Sometimes people pass away without having made a Will. This is what we call an Intestate Estate and different rules apply.

 The same work as listed above will apply but in addition to that time will need to be spent locating the correct beneficiaries under the Rules of Intestacy. Every case is different but on average the costs are between £2000 to £5000 plus 20% VAT.

WILL - single - £225 plus 20% VAT

WILL - complex with Discretionary Trust - £495 plus 20% VAT

WILL - complex with a Life interest - £495 plus 20% VAT

WILL - Mirror wills - £350 plus 20% VAT for both

WILL - simple amendment - £125 plus 20% VAT

Lasting Power of Attorney Prices

**Please note for every LPA you have to pay a fee of £82 to register it at the Office of the Public Guardian**

LPA X 1 (either Health and Welfare OR Property and Finance for 1 person) - £395 plus 20% VAT

LPA X 2 (both Health and Welfare AND Property and Finance for 1 person) - £595 plus 20% VAT

LPA X 4 (Health and Welfare AND Property and Finance for 2 people) - £895 plus 20% VAT
