Eric Thorniley & Co was established in 1939 as a Stockport based legal practice providing a suite of private client and conveyancing services to its local customers.

In 1978 John Edwin Howe qualified as a Solicitor and joined Eric Thorniley & Co

During its trading history between 1991 to 1994 the founder Eric Thorniley was appointed as a director of the Stockport local Law Society.

As part of a succession plan in July 2008 John Howe incorporated the Howe Practice Limited.
